Retreat

I created a 5-hour retreat for the A Cappella Choir in the Fall of 2016. We had access to the recently renovated Felmuth Hall at the Ridge Oak Senior Citizens Center which was spacious, had a kitchen and was completely private and distanced from the community who lived there. Section Leaders were asked to create letters to be read to the group indicating their hopes and goals for the upcoming year; to coordinate bringing snacks, beverages and paper goods; to collect $5 for the pizza delivery; to arrive early to prepare and review the schedule for the evening and to remain behind to make sure the space was left cleaner than we found it. Because the A Cappella Choir had caroled in December for decades at Ridge Oak, we used the space for free. Section Leaders arrived at 4:30 and the choir arrived at 6p. The evening was over at 11p. There was no singing involved in our retreat. It was all about breaking barriers and building loyalty and trust with one another. A RECAP of the 2019 retreat and the permission slip is attached below.
